The Acer Aspire One uses a wireless network interface controller, also known as a wireless card or wireless adapter, to connect to the Internet. Attached to the adapter is an antenna that enables the netbook to receive Wi-Fi signals broadcast from nearby devices. If your Aspire One fails to detect wireless networks, or drops the wireless signal while connected to a network, before you call technical support for assistance -- and take time away from important business tasks as a result -- reset the wireless adapter to troubleshoot the device.
